Activity abounds in the local area. To ensure availability, Graham’s Place recommends that guests plan Caribbean snorkeling, diving and fishing excursions prior to arrival. Our staff can assist, and for convenience, guests can find everything they need from sunscreen to snorkel gear to dive tanks at Graham’s Place Dive Shop.
Waterfall Hike
A boat ride from Graham’s Place brings guests to this local treasure. A hike past lush tropical landscapes up a moderate incline to Mother Nature’s perfectly placed waterfall provides several hours of exercise and scenic beauty. Hikers can enjoy the many unique plant and tree species of the region and photograph this enchanting wonder. Sitting under the falls is a most refreshing reward prior to departing this place in paradise.
Legendary Fishing
Guanaja is a diverse Caribbean fishery surrounded by sand, turtle grass and coral flats—providing some of the best bonefishing in the region. Schools of 10-200 fish are often seen and catches can be as large as 10 pounds. The incredible surroundings also make Graham’s Place a unique resort for deep sea fishing and fishing for permit at night. Graham’s Place has the unique advantage of being a place where men can bring their wives, girlfriends or families — something that most other fishing resorts do not, or cannot offer.
Diving & Snorkeling
Guanaja and the surrounding area are rated as one of the world’s top dive destinations. The Bay Islands in this Caribbean water wonderland are home to the second largest coral barrier in the world — after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. As a habitat for over 90% of the identified species that live in the Caribbean Sea, this area attracts both snorkelers and divers. Visitors can also experience unforgettable deep and night diving to see fluorescent fish and plankton that light up in the dark. Mr. Graham sunk an old ship just off his cay for divers to enjoy.
